Eat Bulaga is a noon-time variety show in the Philippines produced by the Television And Production Exponents Inc. of Malou Fagar and Tony Tuviera. The program is the longest-running variety show on Philippine television. The show is broadcast from Westside Studios at the GMA Network Broadway Centrum in Quezon City.

AlDub is a fictional supercouple pairing of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub from the Philippine daytime variety series Eat Bulaga! Its name is derived from a portmanteau of the tandem’s character names, namely Filipino actor Alden Richards, who portrays a fictionalized version of himself, and Yaya Dub, portrayed by Filipina voice dubbing actress Maine Mendoza. Both joining the program’s cast in 2015, Richards first appeared as a host of Eat Bulaga! ’s various segments, such as the “That’s My Bae” portion; while Mendoza originally appeared as Yaya Dub in the show “Juan for All, All for Juan” segment. Exclusively interacting through the show’s split screen frame, the AlDub couple have yet to meet personally for the first time, only communicating through dubbing audio samples of popular songs, films and TV series as well as handwritten messages on screen. A 30-minute short soap opera parody pegged as “KalyeSerye” was created within the “Juan for All, All for Juan”‘s segment for the tandem, featuring live improv acting from the AlDub supercouple and its additional characters–Filipino comedians Wally Bayola (as various characters), Jose Manalo (as various characters), and Paolo Ballesteros (as various characters). The segment proved to be a success in both broadcast television and social media, resulting in a significant increase of viewership and popularity of Eat Bulaga!. In addition, it has also contributed to the careers of Richards and Mendoza.

Someone Like You (Chinese: 聽見幸福; pinyin: Tīng Jiàn Xìng Fú) is a 2015 Taiwanese romantic melodrama television series produced by Sanlih E-Television, starring Kingone Wang and Lorene Ren with Sean Lee, Nita Lei and William Liao of Lollipop F as the main cast. The Chinese title literally translates to “Happy To Hear”. Filming began on December 21, 2014 and finished on May 19, 2015. The drama was filmed as it aired. First original broadcast began January 11, 2015 on TTV channel airing on Sunday mights from 10:00-11:30 pm. Final episode aired on May 24, 2015 with 20 episodes total.

On the Wings of Love is a 2015 Philippine romantic comedy television series directed by Antoinette Jadaone, Jojo Saguin and Dan Villegas, starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre in their first primetime television series. The series premiered on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on August 10, 2015,[9] replacing Bridges of Love. The romantic comedy centers around two different people — Leah, a simple girl with an American dream; and Clark, a boy living his American life — who are forced to marry in order to legally stay and continue working in the United States. James Reid as Clark Medina: A Filipino American who immmigrated to San Francisco with his mother, Ofie, to be introduced to his father. After being rejected by him, Ofie has no way to support Clark other than working long, hard hours. Clark’s life changed when his mother contracted pneumonia and died. Clark was taken in by Social Services but escaped after being abused. He was saved by his Tita Jack, who became his guardian. To pay for his siblings’ education, Clark borrows money from Barracuda—a loan shark. When Clark hits rock bottom and is desperate for money, he asks help from Tita Jack. She suggests agreeing to an arranged marriage with Leah, who is willing to pay a lot of money for a green card. Nadine Lustre as Leah Olivar-Medina: A young and proud Filipina who has an American Dream, which started when her mother, Rona, went to America as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) to provide a better life for her family. However, when she died in an accident, Leah’s desire to continue her mother’s footsteps becomes reality when the choir that she’s a part of goes to the United States for a competition. After the competition, Leah extends her stay and she reconciles with Tita Jack, who helps her settle in. As the months pass by, Leah’s visa is soon to expire. The only way she can legally stay is to marry an American citizen, and ends up marrying Clark.
